A <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-178\">reformkor<\/a>\u00a0derek\u00e1n <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-132\">d\u00edszpolg\u00e1rr\u00e1 v\u00e1lasztott\u00e1k<\/a>, s sz\u00e1mos k\u00f6zint\u00e9zm\u00e9nyt is elneveztek r\u00f3la. Az \u0151 nev\u00e9t viselte Kaposv\u00e1r m\u00e1sodik k\u00e1v\u00e9h\u00e1za, az 1853-ban megnyitott Sz\u00e9chenyi k\u00e1v\u00e9h\u00e1z \u00e9pp\u00fagy, mint az 1912-ben alakult Kaposv\u00e1ri Sz\u00e9chenyi T\u00e1rsask\u00f6r, a fels\u0151 kereskedelmi iskola ifj\u00fas\u00e1gi egyes\u00fclete, a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-211\">f\u0151gimn\u00e1zium<\/a>\u00a01920-ban z\u00e1szl\u00f3t bontott cserk\u00e9szcsapata, s a Kaposv\u00e1ri N\u00e9pf\u0151iskolai Sz\u00e9chenyi Sz\u00f6vets\u00e9g is, amely 1925 elej\u00e9n alakult meg a Turul Sz\u00e1ll\u00f3ban. A v\u00e1rmegye ugyanebben az \u00e9vben \u00fagy hat\u00e1rozott, hogy a megyei m\u00fazeumot \u00e9s a megyei k\u00f6nyvt\u00e1rat is mag\u00e1ban foglal\u00f3 kult\u00farpalot\u00e1t a Magyar Tudom\u00e1nyos Akad\u00e9mia sz\u00e1z \u00e9ve t\u00f6rt\u00e9nt megalap\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1ra eml\u00e9kezve gr\u00f3f Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1nr\u00f3l fogja elnevezni.
