Az Erzs\u00e9bet \u00fat<\/a> \u2013 a k\u00e9s\u0151bbi Noszlopy G\u00e1sp\u00e1r utca \u2013 a 19. sz\u00e1zad legv\u00e9g\u00e9n ny\u00edlt meg, miut\u00e1n az Esterh\u00e1zy herceg tulajdon\u00e1ban lev\u0151 f\u00f6ldszintes b\u00e9rh\u00e1zakat megvette \u00e9s lebontatta a v\u00e1ros. Az utca nyugati oldal\u00e1n n\u00e9h\u00e1ny \u00e9ven bel\u00fcl nagyv\u00e1rosi palot\u00e1k sora \u00e9p\u00fclt fel. 1903-ban n\u00e9gy plat\u00e1nfasort is \u00fcltettek az utc\u00e1ban, amelyet \u2013 ak\u00e1rcsak az 1911-ig m\u00e9g Sz\u00e9chenyi t\u00e9rnek nevezett f\u0151teret \u2013 ny\u00fczsg\u0151, eleven gazdas\u00e1gi \u00e9s t\u00e1rsadalmi k\u00f6zpontt\u00e1 tett a piac.<\/p>\n

Kem\u00e9ny Albert nagykeresked\u0151 borsos \u00e1ron megszerezte a v\u00e1rost\u00f3l az \u00faj utca f\u0151t\u00e9r fel\u0151li v\u00e9g\u00e9n k\u00e9pz\u0151d\u00f6tt saroktelket, \u00e9s meg\u00e1lmodta, majd meg is \u00e9p\u00edttette ott az Erzs\u00e9bet Sz\u00e1ll\u00f3t. A munk\u00e1latokat 1901 m\u00e1rcius\u00e1ban kezdte meg Lencz S\u00e1ndor. Az eklektikus st\u00edlus\u00fa, sarokerk\u00e9lyes sz\u00e1ll\u00f3t, amelyet m\u00e1r a kort\u00e1rsak is a v\u00e1ros egyik legszebb \u00e9s legmodernebb \u00e9p\u00fclet\u00e9nek<\/a> tartottak, oly nagy buzgalommal \u00e9p\u00edtett\u00e9k, hogy \u00e1prilisban \u00fagy t\u0171nt: \u0151sz elej\u00e9re megnyithat\u00f3 lesz. V\u00e9g\u00fcl m\u00e1r augusztusban \u00e1tadt\u00e1k! A hotelt az 1898-ban mer\u00e9nylet \u00e1ldozat\u00e1ul esett magyar kir\u00e1lyn\u00e9r\u00f3l<\/a>\u00a0nevezt\u00e9k el, ak\u00e1rcsak a mellette ny\u00edlt utc\u00e1t.<\/p>\n

Aligha meglep\u0151 \u2013 a Turul Sz\u00e1ll\u00f3 akkor m\u00e9g nem \u00e9p\u00fclt fel! \u2013, hogy 1904 tavasz\u00e1n itt sz\u00e1llt meg (\u201eaz erk\u00e9lyes k\u00e9t szob\u00e1ban, teh\u00e1t a legszebb ponton, minden k\u00e9nyelemmel ell\u00e1tva\u201d) a kor egyik leg\u00fcnnepeltebb sz\u00edn\u00e9szn\u0151je, a m\u00e1sodszor is Kaposv\u00e1rra l\u00e1togat\u00f3 Blaha Lujza<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Az Erzs\u00e9bet Sz\u00e1ll\u00f3 \u00e9p\u00fclet\u00e9ben k\u00e9s\u0151bb ad\u00f3hivatal \u00e9s rend\u0151rs\u00e9g is helyet kapott, a f\u00f6ldszinten cip\u0151-, majd ruh\u00e1zati \u00e1ruh\u00e1z ny\u00edlt. Az \u00f6tvenes \u00e9vekben lak\u00e1sokat alak\u00edtottak ki az emeleten. Egy villan\u00f3k\u00e9p 1956-b\u00f3l: a szovjet intervenci\u00f3 ut\u00e1n az akkor itt m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151 Csibi \u00c1ruh\u00e1z erk\u00e9ly\u00e9r\u0151l orosz g\u00e9ppuska szegez\u0151d\u00f6tt a Kossuth t\u00e9ren dolgukra siet\u0151 emberekre.<\/p>\n
