B\u00e1rmilyen j\u00f3 \u00e9s sz\u00e9p volt a f\u0151t\u00e9ri \u00e9p\u00fclet, m\u00e1r sz\u0171knek tal\u00e1ltatott az udvar, \u00e9s kicsinek bizonyultak a termek. El\u0151sz\u00f6r \u00fagy tervezt\u00e9k, hogy ezt az iskol\u00e1t fogj\u00e1k b\u0151v\u00edteni, s noha a szomsz\u00e9dos telket meg is v\u00e1s\u00e1rolt\u00e1k, v\u00e9g\u00fcl m\u00e9gis elejtett\u00e9k az elk\u00e9pzel\u00e9st. Hiszen nemcsak a gimn\u00e1zium, hanem a v\u00e1ros is lend\u00fcletesen fejl\u0151d\u00f6tt a sz\u00e1zadv\u00e9gen, s a megn\u00f6vekedett utcai forgalom miatt a f\u0151t\u00e9r m\u00e1r sehogy sem t\u0171nt megfelel\u0151 helysz\u00ednnek a k\u00f6z\u00e9piskola sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">V\u00e9g\u00fcl a v\u00e1ros \u00e1ltal akkoriban megszerzett, a megyesz\u00e9khely \u00e9szaki ir\u00e1ny\u00fa terjeszked\u00e9s\u00e9t biztos\u00edt\u00f3 <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-076\">\u201eMeggyes-telken\u201d<\/a>\u00a0tal\u00e1ltak helyet a gimn\u00e1ziumnak. Ebben az id\u0151ben a k\u00f6rny\u00e9k m\u00e9g a v\u00e1ros sz\u00e9l\u00e9nek sz\u00e1m\u00edtott, a sz\u00e1nt\u00f3f\u00f6ldek \u00e9s kukoricat\u00e1bl\u00e1k k\u00f6z\u00f6tt az Eszterh\u00e1zy (a k\u00e9s\u0151bbi Bajcsy-Zsilinszky) utca sz\u00e9p h\u00e1zsorainak nyomuk sem volt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">Az iskola 1896-ban kezd\u0151d\u00f6tt \u00faj \u201ehonfoglal\u00e1sa\u201d persze \u00f6sszekapcsol\u00f3dott a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-001\">magyar honfoglal\u00e1s<\/a> ezredik \u00e9vfordul\u00f3j\u00e1val. Az \u00e1prilisi fa\u00fcltet\u00e9s is ennek jegy\u00e9ben ment v\u00e9gbe, besz\u00e9dek \u00e9s szavalatok mellett. Az egyes oszt\u00e1lyok mind kaptak egy-egy f\u00e1t, a f\u00e1k pedig mind kaptak egy-egy nevet. \u00cdgy lett a kaposv\u00e1ri gimn\u00e1ziumnak \u00c1lmos, El\u0151d, Kund, Und, Tas, Huba, T\u00f6h\u00f6t\u00f6m \u00e9s \u00c1rp\u00e1d nev\u0171 f\u00e1ja, t\u00f6bbnyire val\u00f3sz\u00edn\u0171leg h\u00e1rsak. Mindemellett <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-227\">Szent Istv\u00e1nr\u00f3l<\/a>\u00a0is elneveztek egy f\u00e1t \u2013 azzal viszont m\u00e9g t\u00e1volabb ker\u00fcltek a honfoglal\u00e1s kor\u00e1t\u00f3l, hogy a VIII. oszt\u00e1ly f\u00e1j\u00e1t <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-050\">\u201eI. Ferenc J\u00f3zsef<\/a>, dics\u0151s\u00e9gesen uralkod\u00f3 magyar kir\u00e1ly nev\u00e9r\u0151l\u201d ismert\u00e9k.
