Az \u00e9vtized elej\u00e9t\u0151l ezt a vonalat is kezdt\u00e9k jobban bekapcsolni a magyarorsz\u00e1gi vas\u00fath\u00e1l\u00f3zatba, 1884-ben megt\u00f6rt\u00e9nt az \u00e1llamos\u00edt\u00e1sa is, 1890 elej\u00e9n pedig \u2013 igen gyorsan, n\u00e9h\u00e1ny h\u00f3nap alatt \u2013 els\u0151rend\u0171v\u00e9 alak\u00edtott\u00e1k a p\u00e1ly\u00e1t, teh\u00e1t \u00faj talpf\u00e1kat fektettek le, s azokra a kor\u00e1bbin\u00e1l j\u00f3val er\u0151sebb s\u00edneket szereltek fel. A korszer\u0171s\u00edt\u00e9ssel hat\u00e1rid\u0151re v\u00e9geztek, \u00edgy 1890. j\u00fanius 1-j\u00e9n a gyorsvonatok forgalma is megindulhatott. Az els\u0151 ilyen vonatot nagy k\u00f6z\u00f6ns\u00e9g v\u00e1rta a kaposv\u00e1ri ind\u00f3h\u00e1zn\u00e1l, m\u00e9g az \u00e1llom\u00e1s el\u0151tti utc\u00e1t is ellepte a n\u00e9p.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">Alapvet\u0151en megv\u00e1ltozott a v\u00e1ros k\u00f6zleked\u00e9sf\u00f6ldrajzi helyzete, hiszen a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-232\">M\u00c1V<\/a>\u00a0ekkor Kaposv\u00e1ron kereszt\u00fcl teremtette meg az \u00f6sszek\u00f6ttet\u00e9st Budapest \u00e9s Fiume k\u00f6z\u00f6tt. A naponta k\u00f6zleked\u0151 gyorsvonatp\u00e1r \u00f6t-\u00f6t percre \u00e1llt meg a kaposv\u00e1ri vas\u00fat\u00e1llom\u00e1son. <em>\u201eHa meggondoljuk a nagy halad\u00e1st<\/em> \u2013 fogalmazott a <em><a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-055\">Somogy<\/a><\/em>\u00a0c\u00edm\u0171 hetilap 1890. j\u00fanius 3-i sz\u00e1m\u00e1ban <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-056\">Roboz Istv\u00e1n<\/a>\u00a0szerkeszt\u0151 \u2013<em>, mely a domb\u00f3v\u00e1r\u2013z\u00e1k\u00e1nyi vonalon ennek \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s\u00e9t\u0151l fogva t\u00f6rt\u00e9nt, meg lehet\u00fcnk el\u00e9gedve az eredm\u00e9nnyel. A vas\u00fatvonalon a k\u00f6zleked\u00e9s <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-183\">1872. \u00e9v augusztus hava 14-\u00e9n ny\u00edlt meg<\/a>. Akkor indult a vegyes vonat reggel 6 \u00f3rakor Kaposv\u00e1rr\u00f3l, s mint <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-184\">dressz\u00edrozatlan csiga<\/a>\u00a0haladt a p\u00e1ly\u00e1n; egy lev\u00e9lhord\u00f3 cig\u00e1nygyerek sokkal sebesebben megy; s el\u00e9rt Z\u00e1k\u00e1nyba d\u00e9lut\u00e1n 1 \u00f3ra \u00e9s 38 perckor! Teh\u00e1t majd 8 \u00f3ra kellett arra, m\u00edg valaki a megye sz\u00e9kv\u00e1ros\u00e1b\u00f3l Z\u00e1k\u00e1nyig juthatott; m\u00edg most az els\u0151 gyorsvonat vas\u00e1rnap d\u00e9lel\u0151tt 1 \u00f3ra \u00e9s 38 perc alatt \u00e9rt Z\u00e1k\u00e1nyb\u00f3l Kaposv\u00e1rra<\/em> [\u2026]<em>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">Az 1890-es \u00e9vekben mind forgalmasabb\u00e1 v\u00e1lt az \u00e1llom\u00e1s, amelynek jelent\u0151s\u00e9g\u00e9t tov\u00e1bb n\u00f6velte a cukorgy\u00e1r \u00e9s a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-193\">helyi\u00e9rdek\u0171 vasutak<\/a>\u00a0meg\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9se. 1897. \u00e1prilis 22-\u00e9n, majd m\u00e1jus 12-\u00e9n a rom\u00e1n kir\u00e1lyi p\u00e1r k\u00fcl\u00f6nvonata is \u00e1thaladt Kaposv\u00e1ron, szeptember 18-\u00e1n viszont k\u00e9t tehervonat \u00fctk\u00f6z\u00f6tt \u00f6ssze a k\u00f6zelben. M\u00e1r \u00fagy t\u0171nt, hogy \u201et\u00falgy\u0151zt\u00fck\u201d magunkat a forgalom n\u00f6veked\u00e9s\u00e9vel: <em>\u201eNincs ilyen futkoz\u00e1s, tolong\u00e1s, f\u00fcty\u00fcl\u00e9s, zs\u00fafolts\u00e1g \u00e9s vagonk\u00e1osz t\u00e1n a p\u00e1rizsi \u00e1llom\u00e1son, mint itt Kaposv\u00e1rott!<\/em> [\u2026]<em> A vonatok egym\u00e1s ut\u00e1n futnak ki az \u00e1llom\u00e1s s\u00ednein; egyik j\u00f6n, a m\u00e1sik megy, s akkora teherrel, hogy a kocsik hossza majd kilom\u00e9tert tesz ki! L\u00e1tjuk, hogy az \u00e1llamvasutak egyik legnagyobb forgalm\u00fa vonal\u00e1r\u00f3l van sz\u00f3, B.-Pest \u00e9s Fiume k\u00f6zt.
