A 19. sz\u00e1zad m\u00e1sodik fel\u00e9ben pedig nem csup\u00e1n sz\u0171k volt m\u00e1r a templom, hanem omladozott is; egyebek mellett feljegyezt\u00e9k, hogy n\u00f6v\u00e9nyzet telepedett meg a torny\u00e1n. \u201eA kaposv\u00e1ri templomot most meg az\u00e9rt nem akarj\u00e1k \u00fajra\u00e9p\u00edteni<\/em> \u2013 ironiz\u00e1lt 1871. m\u00e1rcius 14-i sz\u00e1m\u00e1ban a Somogy<\/a><\/em>\u00a0c\u00edm\u0171 hetilap \u2013, mert torny\u00e1ra tekintve azt mondj\u00e1k az \u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9szek: \u00fagyis \u00f6sszed\u0151l nemsok\u00e1ra; akkor legal\u00e1bb nem kell a bont\u00e1s\u00e9rt is fizetni.
