Akkoriban szok\u00e1s volt az is, hogy az \u00fcnnepl\u0151k t\u00e1viratot k\u00fcldjenek a volt korm\u00e1nyz\u00f3-eln\u00f6knek. 1882-ben p\u00e9ld\u00e1ul a k\u00f6vetkez\u0151t s\u00fcrg\u00f6ny\u00f6zt\u00e9k Olaszorsz\u00e1gba a megyesz\u00e9khelyr\u0151l: \u201eKossuth Lajos \u00farnak, Turin. Kaposv\u00e1r v\u00e1ros f\u00fcggetlens\u00e9gi elveket vall\u00f3 polg\u00e1rai m\u00e1rczius 15-\u00e9nek \u00fcnnepl\u00e9s\u00e9re tartott \u00f6sszej\u00f6vetel\u00fckb\u0151l \u00d6nt, mint a f\u00fcggetlens\u00e9g megteremt\u0151j\u00e9t, forr\u00f3 sz\u00edvvel \u00fcdv\u00f6zlik.\u201d (N\u00e9pjog,<\/em> 1882. m\u00e1rcius 17.)<\/p>\n

A dualizmus \u00e9vtizedeiben augusztus 25-\u00e9t, Lajos-napot mindig t\u00e1rsas \u00f6sszej\u00f6vetelekkel, vend\u00e9gl\u0151i bankettekkel k\u00f6sz\u00f6nt\u00f6tt\u00e9k a negyvennyolcas \u00e9rzelm\u0171 kaposv\u00e1riak. Eleinte folyv\u00e1st ellenz\u00e9ki vezet\u0151i voltak a v\u00e1rosnak, ez\u00e9rt az \u00fcnneps\u00e9geken rendszerint a polg\u00e1rmester mondott besz\u00e9det. Amikor (1877. szeptember 20-\u00e1n) a Kaposv\u00e1ri N\u00e9pk\u00f6r az orosz\u2013t\u00f6r\u00f6k h\u00e1bor\u00faban aratott t\u00f6r\u00f6k gy\u0151zelmek h\u00edr\u00e9re d\u00edszkivil\u00e1g\u00edt\u00e1st \u00e9s f\u00e1kly\u00e1smenetet rendezett, a felvonul\u00f3k \u2013 Klapka Gy\u00f6rgy mellett \u2013 a hetven\u00f6t \u00e9ves torin\u00f3i sz\u00e1m\u0171z\u00f6ttet is \u00e9ltett\u00e9k.<\/p>\n

A kaposv\u00e1ri Kossuth-\u00fcnneps\u00e9gek sor\u00e1b\u00f3l kiemelkedett az, amelyet 1882. szeptember 16-\u00e1n este, h\u00e1rom nappal a \u201eturini remete\u201d nyolcvanadik sz\u00fclet\u00e9snapja el\u0151tt rendeztek.
