A leleplez\u00e9si \u00fcnnep\u00e9ly 12-\u00e9n reggel 9 \u00f3rakor kezd\u0151d\u00f6tt; persze m\u00e1r 8 \u00f3ra el\u0151tt t\u00f6mve volt a f\u0151t\u00e9r, ahol a h\u00f6lgyek sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra egy emelv\u00e9nyt is \u00e1csoltak. A k\u00f6rnyez\u0151 h\u00e1zak (a gimn\u00e1zium<\/a>, a v\u00e1rosh\u00e1za<\/a>, a B\u00e1r\u00e1ny vend\u00e9gl\u0151<\/a>\u00a0) ablakai szint\u00e9n megteltek n\u00e9z\u0151kkel. \u201eItt volt a v\u00e1ros kicsinyje-nagyja, fiatal, \u00f6reg, szeg\u00e9ny \u00e9s gazdag; de nemcsak Kaposv\u00e1r, hanem a k\u00f6rny\u00e9k is sz\u00e9p sz\u00e1mmal volt k\u00e9pviselve.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

A z\u00f6ld lepellel fedett szobor k\u00f6r\u00fcl z\u00e1szl\u00f3k lengedeztek \u2013 k\u00f6zt\u00fck piros-feh\u00e9r-z\u00f6ld \u00e9s fekete-s\u00e1rga is akadt \u2013, az eml\u00e9km\u0171 talapzat\u00e1t koszor\u00fak bor\u00edtott\u00e1k. \u00c9szak fel\u0151l egy r\u00f6gt\u00f6nz\u00f6tt k\u00e1poln\u00e1t is fel\u00e1ll\u00edtottak, ahol Szab\u00f3 Lajos (1846\u20131899) kaposv\u00e1ri k\u00e1pl\u00e1n mutatott be szentmis\u00e9t.
