Ekkort\u00e1jt, 1850. augusztus 13-\u00e1n tartotta meg alakul\u00f3 gy\u0171l\u00e9s\u00e9t az int\u00e9zm\u00e9ny anyagi \u00fcgyeinek kezel\u00e9s\u00e9re \u00e9s \u00e9rdekeinek v\u00e9delm\u00e9re hivatott gimn\u00e1ziumi v\u00e1lasztm\u00e1ny. Az iskola alap\u00edt\u00f3inak ut\u00f3daib\u00f3l, a p\u00e1rtfog\u00f3kb\u00f3l \u00e9s megb\u00edzottaikb\u00f3l \u00e1ll\u00f3 test\u00fclet ezekben a neh\u00e9z id\u0151kben a gimn\u00e1zium puszta l\u00e9t\u00e9\u00e9rt harcolt a k\u00f6zponti hatalommal. Szerencs\u00e9re siker\u00fclt megakad\u00e1lyozni, hogy katonai laktany\u00e1nak foglalj\u00e1k le az \u00e9p\u00fcletet, azt a csap\u00e1st viszont nem lehetett elh\u00e1r\u00edtani, amely 1850. szeptember 7-\u00e9n s\u00fajtott le a kaposv\u00e1ri k\u00f6z\u00e9piskol\u00e1ra: a korm\u00e1ny rendeletben vonta meg <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-036\">nyilv\u00e1noss\u00e1gi jog\u00e1t<\/a>. (Az \u00e1llam csak akkor ismerte el ezt a jogos\u00edtv\u00e1nyt, ha teljes\u00fcltek az \u00e1llami gimn\u00e1ziumok sz\u00e1m\u00e1ra el\u0151\u00edrt k\u00f6vetelm\u00e9nyek.)<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">Az int\u00e9zked\u00e9s nagy elkesered\u00e9st sz\u00fclt a megy\u00e9ben, s mind a tantest\u00fclet, mind a v\u00e1lasztm\u00e1ny kitart\u00f3 k\u00fczdelmet ind\u00edtott az elvesztett jog visszaszerz\u00e9s\u00e9re. R\u00e1ad\u00e1sul nem csak a nyilv\u00e1noss\u00e1gi jogr\u00f3l kellett lemondania a somogyi megyesz\u00e9khely k\u00f6z\u00e9piskol\u00e1j\u00e1nak az \u00f6tvenes \u00e9vek elej\u00e9n, hiszen n\u00e9gyoszt\u00e1lyos algimn\u00e1ziumm\u00e1 fokozt\u00e1k le az \u00faj tan\u00fcgyi szervezetnek meg nem felel\u0151, rosszul felszerelt k\u00f6z\u00e9piskol\u00e1t. A kisgimn\u00e1zium v\u00e1ls\u00e1g\u00e1t j\u00f3l mutatja, hogy az 1850\u201351-es tan\u00e9vben m\u00e1r csak negyvenhat tanul\u00f3ja volt, ami m\u00e9lypont az int\u00e9zm\u00e9ny t\u00f6rt\u00e9net\u00e9ben\u2026<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\"><a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-081\">Gruber J\u00e1nos<\/a>\u00a0viszont, aki nem sokkal k\u00e9s\u0151bb, 1856-ban kezdte meg tanulm\u00e1nyait a kaposv\u00e1ri gimn\u00e1zium els\u0151 oszt\u00e1ly\u00e1ban, arra is r\u00e1vil\u00e1g\u00edt n\u00e9pszer\u0171 k\u00f6nyveinek egyik\u00e9ben, hogy a pedag\u00f3gusok az <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-049\">\u00f6nk\u00e9nyuralom idej\u00e9n is igyekeztek helyt\u00e1llni<\/a>\u00a0a katedra m\u00f6g\u00f6tt: <em>\u201eJ\u00f3lesik elmondanom, hogy ez a tan\u00e1ri kar abban az elnyomott korszakban, hol a szabad sz\u00f3 \u00e9s gondolat is tiltva volt, igaz, hazafias szellemben nevelt benn\u00fcnket, \u00e9s ha meg is gy\u00f6t\u00f6rtek a Vaterlandskunde el\u0151\u00edrt tan\u00edt\u00e1s\u00e1val, de az\u00e9rt a szabads\u00e1gharc h\u0171 \u00e9s r\u00e9szletez\u0151 el\u0151ad\u00e1s\u00e1r\u00f3l sem felejtkeztek meg <\/em>[\u2026]<em>.\u201d<\/em> (Gruber J\u00e1nos: <em>Morzs\u00e1k a negyven\u00e9ves asztalr\u00f3l<\/em>.
