1845-ben a somogyi megyesz\u00e9khelyen szervezt\u00e9k meg a magyar ipar fejleszt\u00e9s\u00e9t z\u00e1szlaj\u00e1ra t\u0171z\u0151 Orsz\u00e1gos V\u00e9degylet els\u0151 vid\u00e9ki oszt\u00e1ly\u00e1t. (A v\u00e9degylet tagjai k\u00f6telezt\u00e9k magukat, hogy n\u00e9h\u00e1ny \u00e9ven \u00e1t csak magyar \u00e1rut v\u00e1s\u00e1rolnak.) Somogyban h\u00e1rom vid\u00e9ki oszt\u00e1ly alakult meg ebben az \u00e9vben: a Kund Vince eln\u00f6klet\u00e9vel m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151 kaposv\u00e1ri ut\u00e1n a barcsi, majd a szigetv\u00e1ri is.<\/p>\n

A vid\u00e9ki oszt\u00e1lyokat \u00e1ltal\u00e1ban a sz\u00f3 mozg\u00f3s\u00edt\u00f3 erej\u00e9vel szervezt\u00e9k, mivel a cenz\u00fara nem enged\u00e9lyezte a sajt\u00f3propagand\u00e1t, s azt sem, hogy az al\u00e1\u00edr\u00e1si \u00edveket sokszoros\u00edts\u00e1k. A mozgalom vezet\u0151i teh\u00e1t sz\u00f3noklatokkal f\u0171szerezett toborz\u00f3k\u00f6rutakra indultak. Gr\u00f3f Batthy\u00e1ny K\u00e1zm\u00e9r (1807\u20131854), az orsz\u00e1gos eln\u00f6k 1845 nyar\u00e1n \u00edgy vet\u0151d\u00f6tt el Somogy v\u00e1rmegy\u00e9be, \u00e9s somodori tart\u00f3zkod\u00e1sa alatt kapott megh\u00edv\u00e1st a Kaposv\u00e1r Vid\u00e9ki Oszt\u00e1ly 1845. augusztus 24-\u00e9n tartott \u00fcl\u00e9sre. Mivel a kaposv\u00e1riak \u00fatt\u00f6r\u0151 szerepet j\u00e1tszottak a v\u00e9degylet vid\u00e9ki szervez\u00e9se sor\u00e1n, a november 17-\u00e9n tartott els\u0151 pesti nagygy\u0171l\u00e9sen \u0151k kapt\u00e1k meg az els\u0151 helyet az \u00fcltet\u00e9s sorrendj\u00e9ben. A gr\u00f3f Zichy P\u00e1l vezette k\u00fcld\u00f6tts\u00e9g az el\u0151z\u0151 napon tisztelg\u0151 l\u00e1togat\u00e1st tett gr\u00f3f Batthy\u00e1ny K\u00e1zm\u00e9r eln\u00f6kn\u00e9l, gr\u00f3f Teleki L\u00e1szl\u00f3 aleln\u00f6kn\u00e9l \u00e9s Kossuth Lajos<\/a>\u00a0igazgat\u00f3n\u00e1l is. Nagy volt a lelkesed\u00e9s; az 1845. november 17-i k\u00f6zgy\u0171l\u00e9sen m\u00e1r 138 vid\u00e9ki egyes\u00fclet k\u00e9pvisel\u0151i jelentek meg. Hamarosan azt\u00e1n kifulladt a mozgalom.
