A v\u00e1ndorsz\u00edn\u00e9szettel \u00e1tmenetileg felhagy\u00f3 k\u00f6lt\u0151 1841 \u0151sz\u00e9n Moh\u00e1csr\u00f3l P\u00e9cs, Szigetv\u00e1r, Kaposv\u00e1r, Keszthely, S\u00fcmeg \u00e9s Szombathely \u00e9rint\u00e9s\u00e9vel ment Sopronba, onnan pedig Pozsonyba, majd P\u00e1p\u00e1ra. \u00datj\u00e1r\u00f3l 1842. j\u00falius 7-\u00e9n kelt level\u00e9ben sz\u00e1molt be, de kaposv\u00e1ri tapasztalatait nem r\u00e9szletezte.<\/p>\n

A forradalm\u00e1r-k\u00f6lt\u0151 alakja \u00e9s neve k\u00e9s\u0151bb is t\u00f6bb \u00edzben felbukkant a v\u00e1rost\u00f6rt\u00e9netben. Kisfaludy Atala kaposv\u00e1ri k\u00f6lt\u0151n\u0151t az 1870-es \u00e9vek v\u00e9g\u00e9n rendes tagjai k\u00f6z\u00e9 v\u00e1lasztotta a Pet\u0151fi T\u00e1rsas\u00e1g. E jeles irodalmi egyes\u00fclet f\u0151titk\u00e1ra, Sz\u00e1vay Gyula azon az eml\u00e9k\u00fcnneps\u00e9gen is el\u0151ad\u00e1st tartott, amelyet Pet\u0151fi S\u00e1ndor sz\u00fclet\u00e9s\u00e9nek 100. \u00e9vfordul\u00f3ja tisztelet\u00e9re 1923. janu\u00e1r 13-\u00e1n rendezett a kaposv\u00e1ri sz\u00ednh\u00e1zban a Magyar Nemzeti Sz\u00f6vets\u00e9g Somogy Megyei K\u00f6re.<\/p>\n

M\u00e1r 1880 k\u00f6r\u00fcl Pet\u0151fir\u0151l nevezt\u00e9k el a v\u00e1ros egyik utc\u00e1j\u00e1t, s 1954-ben egyik k\u00f6zponti ter\u00e9t is \u2013 akkor, amikor itt \u00e1ll\u00edtott\u00e1k fel a k\u00f6lt\u0151 szobr\u00e1t, Isp\u00e1nki J\u00f3zsef alkot\u00e1s\u00e1t. 1963-t\u00f3l fogva a topon\u00e1ri iskol\u00e1ban, 1973-t\u00f3l a Pet\u0151fi S\u00e1ndor \u00c1ltal\u00e1nos Iskola el\u0151tt is szobra \u00e1llt kiv\u00e1l\u00f3 l\u00edrikusunknak. Mert az 1886-ban megny\u00edlt \u00e9s az 1990-es \u00e9vek k\u00f6zep\u00e9ig m\u0171k\u00f6d\u0151 kaposv\u00e1ri iskola \u00e9pp\u00fagy Pet\u0151fi S\u00e1ndor nev\u00e9t viselte, mint 1981-ig az 1948-ban l\u00e9trehozott Bajcsy-Zsilinszky utcai \u00f3voda. A v\u00e1rosi k\u00f6zgy\u0171l\u00e9s 1998 elej\u00e9n Pet\u0151fi S\u00e1ndor \u00d3vod\u00e1nak nevezte el a Pet\u0151fi utcai \u00f3vod\u00e1t, s a k\u00f6lt\u0151 mellszobr\u00e1t is ide helyezt\u00e9k \u00e1t a volt Pet\u0151fi-iskola udvar\u00e1r\u00f3l.<\/p>\n

De nemcsak az oktat\u00e1s, hanem a sport ter\u00fclet\u00e9r\u0151l is hozhatunk p\u00e9ld\u00e1t. A kaposv\u00e1ri vasgy\u00e1r egyes\u00fcletek\u00e9nt 1927 nyar\u00e1n alakult meg a Cseri Pet\u0151fi Testedz\u0151 Egyes\u00fclet, amely a k\u00f6vetkez\u0151 \u00e9vben Pet\u0151fi Atl\u00e9tikai Club n\u00e9ven egyes\u00fclt a Kaposv\u00e1ri Atl\u00e9tikai Clubbal. (1935-ben azt\u00e1n ez az egyes\u00fclet \u00e9s a Kaposv\u00e1ri R\u00e1k\u00f3czi Sport Club fuzion\u00e1lt.)<\/p>\n
