(A Gilice n\u00e9v a k\u00f6zelben valaha l\u00e9tezett Gilicepuszta eml\u00e9k\u00e9t \u0151rizte meg, s ugyanezt teszi most a Gilice utca.) A park meg\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9s\u00e9t <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-135\">Czindery L\u00e1szl\u00f3<\/a>\u00a0alisp\u00e1n a saj\u00e1t k\u00f6lts\u00e9g\u00e9n v\u00e1llalta. Eredm\u00e9nyes munk\u00e1t v\u00e9gzett: a harmincas \u00e9vek k\u00f6zep\u00e9re egyre jobban kezdett parkra hasonl\u00edtani a felt\u00f6lt\u00f6tt \u00e9s f\u00fcves\u00edtett ter\u00fclet, amelyet eleinte Zsibagy\u00f6pnek (azaz libalegel\u0151nek), majd S\u00e9tat\u00e9rnek vagy S\u00e9takertnek neveztek. Az 1840-es \u00e9vekben a f\u00e1s\u00edt\u00e1s is megt\u00f6rt\u00e9nt. A kaposv\u00e1riak azonban szerettek idej\u00e1rni: a park h\u00edres volt cukr\u00e1szd\u00e1j\u00e1r\u00f3l, valamint <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-109\">ny\u00e1ri sz\u00ednk\u00f6r\u00e9r\u0151l<\/a>, az 1888-ban fel\u00e9p\u00fclt ar\u00e9n\u00e1r\u00f3l. Az 1880-as \u00e9vek v\u00e9g\u00e9n <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-220\">Ujv\u00e1ry Ferenc<\/a>\u00a0ap\u00e1tpl\u00e9b\u00e1nos vezet\u00e9s\u00e9vel megalakult a Kaposv\u00e1ri J\u00f3t\u00e9kony C\u00e9l\u00fa S\u00e9tat\u00e9r Sz\u00e9p\u00edt\u00e9si Egylet is, ami m\u00e1r mag\u00e1ban hordozta az egykori Zsibagy\u00f6p ter\u00fclet\u00e9n j\u00f3val t\u00fall\u00e9p\u0151 v\u00e1rossz\u00e9p\u00edt\u0151 munka gondolat\u00e1t.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">A park elnevez\u00e9se teh\u00e1t Kaposv\u00e1r n\u00f6veked\u00e9s\u00e9vel, a v\u00e1rosiasod\u00e1s el\u0151rehaladt\u00e1val mind el\u0151kel\u0151bb\u00e9 v\u00e1lt. A folyamatot az tet\u0151zte be, hogy 1925. november 12-\u00e9n, J\u00f3kai M\u00f3r sz\u00fclet\u00e9s\u00e9nek centen\u00e1riumi \u00e9v\u00e9ben a v\u00e1rosi k\u00e9pvisel\u0151-test\u00fclet a nagy \u00edr\u00f3 nev\u00e9t adta a S\u00e9tat\u00e9rnek. A kaposv\u00e1riak az\u00f3ta J\u00f3kai liget n\u00e9ven ismerik ezt a sz\u00e9p parkot, amelynek k\u00e9s\u0151bbi t\u00f6rt\u00e9net\u00e9b\u0151l csak n\u00e9h\u00e1ny mozzanatot emel\u00fcnk ki: 1944-ben s\u00falyos bombat\u00e1mad\u00e1s \u00e9rte a k\u00f6rny\u00e9k\u00e9t, 1947-ben itt hozott l\u00e9tre sz\u00f3rakoztat\u00f3parkot a ker\u00e9kp\u00e1roz\u00f3 S\u00e1fr\u00e1n csal\u00e1d, 1960-ban h\u00e9v\u00edzforr\u00e1st t\u00e1rtak fel a liget szomsz\u00e9ds\u00e1g\u00e1ban (erre alapozva \u00e9p\u00fclt ki a v\u00e1rosi f\u00fcrd\u0151), \u00e9s 1993-ban itt avatt\u00e1k fel Fusz Gy\u00f6rgy m\u00e1sodik vil\u00e1gh\u00e1bor\u00fas eml\u00e9km\u0171v\u00e9t.
