Az 1800. szeptember v\u00e9g\u00e9n Kaposv\u00e1ron tartott v\u00e1rmegyei k\u00f6zgy\u0171l\u00e9sen kihirdett\u00e9k a nemesi felkel\u00e9st fegyverbe h\u00edv\u00f3 kir\u00e1lyi parancsot. I. Ferenc Nap\u00f3leon it\u00e1liai gy\u0151zelmei miatt rendelte el az inszurrekci\u00f3t. A Habsburgok ir\u00e1nti szimp\u00e1ti\u00e1val nemigen v\u00e1dolhat\u00f3, de franciaellenes \u00e9rzelmekkel ann\u00e1l ink\u00e1bb \u00e1thatott somogyi nemess\u00e9g egy nemesi lovassz\u00e1zadot \u00e9s egy gyalogosz\u00e1szl\u00f3aljat sz\u00e1nd\u00e9kozott a hadj\u00e1ratba k\u00fcldeni.
