Igal \u00e9s Szigetv\u00e1r is sz\u00f3ba ker\u00fclt lehets\u00e9ges sz\u00e9kv\u00e1rosk\u00e9nt, r\u00e1ad\u00e1sul Szigetv\u00e1r m\u00e9g a 19. sz\u00e1zad els\u0151 \u00e9vtizedeiben is n\u00e9pesebb telep\u00fcl\u00e9s volt Kaposv\u00e1rn\u00e1l.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">S\u0151t, kezdetben m\u00e9g az sem volt egy\u00e9rtelm\u0171, hogy lesz majd megye a sz\u00e9khelyhez, hiszen a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-009\">t\u00f6r\u00f6k h\u00f3d\u00edt\u00e1s<\/a>\u00a0miatt alaposan \u00e1t kellett szabni a D\u00e9l-Dun\u00e1nt\u00fal k\u00f6zigazgat\u00e1s\u00e1t. Az 1596. \u00e9vi VII. dekr\u00e9tum 41. t\u00f6rv\u00e9nycikke egyes\u00edtette Zala \u00e9s Somogy v\u00e1rmegy\u00e9t, azaz Somogyot igazgat\u00e1si \u00e9s t\u00f6rv\u00e9nykez\u00e9si szempontb\u00f3l Zala v\u00e1rmegye egyik j\u00e1r\u00e1s\u00e1v\u00e1 tette. A k\u00e9t megy\u00e9t csak az 1715. \u00e9vi 86. t\u00f6rv\u00e9nycikk v\u00e1lasztotta sz\u00e9t. Az ism\u00e9t \u00f6n\u00e1ll\u00f3v\u00e1 v\u00e1lt Somogy v\u00e1rmegye els\u0151 tiszt\u00faj\u00edt\u00f3 megyei k\u00f6zgy\u0171l\u00e9s\u00e9t egy\u00e9bk\u00e9nt m\u00e1r Kaposv\u00e1ron tartott\u00e1k meg 1715. szeptember v\u00e9g\u00e9n, s 1718-ban elhat\u00e1rozt\u00e1k, hogy a tov\u00e1bbiakban mindig a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-021\">telep\u00edt\u00e9si szerz\u0151d\u00e9ssel<\/a>\u00a0\u00faj \u00e9letre keltett mez\u0151v\u00e1rosban fog gy\u0171l\u00e9sezni a v\u00e1rmegye. A sietve felh\u00fazott \u00e9p\u00fclet sajnos nem sok\u00e1ig tudta kiel\u00e9g\u00edteni a n\u00f6vekv\u0151 ig\u00e9nyeket. Az 1770-es \u00e9vekben kib\u0151v\u00edtett\u00e9k \u00e9s \u00e1talak\u00edtott\u00e1k, alkalmatlan \u00e9s sz\u0171k volt\u00e1n azonban ez sem sokat seg\u00edtett.<\/p>\n<p class=\"kv-page-content-paragraph\">Kaposv\u00e1rnak mindazon\u00e1ltal j\u00f3t tett a sz\u00e9kv\u00e1rosi rang. A Helytart\u00f3tan\u00e1cs 1773-ban m\u00e9rn\u00f6ki hivatalt \u00e1ll\u00edtott fel a telep\u00fcl\u00e9sen, t\u00f6bb megy\u00e9re kiterjed\u0151 hat\u00e1sk\u00f6rrel, ugyanebben az \u00e9vben t\u00e9gl\u00e1b\u00f3l csatorn\u00e1t \u00e9p\u00edtettek, amely a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-038\">Kapos foly\u00f3ba<\/a>\u00a0vezette a szennyvizet, b\u0151v\u00fclt a <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-023\">c\u00e9hes ipar<\/a>, 1775 k\u00f6r\u00fcl f\u00e1kat \u00fcltettek a k\u00e9s\u0151bbi Ir\u00e1nyi D\u00e1niel utc\u00e1ban, a nyolcvanas \u00e9vekben megny\u00edlt az <a href=\"\/varostortenet\/b-029\">Arany Oroszl\u00e1n Gy\u00f3gyszert\u00e1r<\/a>, s a sz\u00e1zad k\u00f6zep\u00e9n R\u00f3s\u00e1s Ferenc m\u00e9rn\u00f6k elk\u00e9sz\u00edtette a v\u00e1roska els\u0151 ismert t\u00e9rk\u00e9p\u00e9t.
