Valamikor a 12. sz\u00e1zad els\u0151 fel\u00e9ben a Monoszl\u00f3 nembeliek kaptak kir\u00e1lyi \u00e9s kir\u00e1lyn\u00e9i birtokadom\u00e1nyt a Kapos ment\u00e9n, amely a v\u00e1ros mai ter\u00fclet\u00e9t is fel\u00f6lelte. A birtok hat\u00e1rait 1192-ben III. B\u00e9la kir\u00e1ly is meger\u0151s\u00edtette. A Kapos menti uradalommal kapcsolatban el\u0151sz\u00f6r 1228-ban bukkant fel az oklevelekben a Ropoly (Rupol) n\u00e9v<\/a>; ekkor Egyed subdiaconus, a p\u00e1pa szentsz\u00e9ki k\u00f6vete r\u00e9sz\u00e9re k\u00e9sz\u00edtettek kimutat\u00e1st a szentm\u00e1rtoni monostor Somogy megyei tizedeir\u0151l. A Monoszl\u00f3iak val\u00f3sz\u00edn\u0171leg v\u00e1ruradalmat \u00e9p\u00edtettek ki, amelyet a birtokhoz tartoz\u00f3 r\u00e9gi f\u00f6ldv\u00e1r hely\u00e9r\u0151l kezdtek \u201eropolyinak\u201d nevezni.<\/p>\n

A 14. sz\u00e1zadban \u00e9p\u00fclt \u00e9s \u00e9szakabbra, a Kapos foly\u00f3 ment\u00e9n fekv\u0151 Rupol\u00fajv\u00e1rhoz<\/a> a k\u00f6z\u00f6s birtokos \u00e9s a n\u00e9v eredete<\/a> kapcsolta a r\u00e9gi rupoli v\u00e1rat.<\/p>\n
